Nasir's “Mystery of Innocence” at Gallery Chitrak

Promising artist Khandkar Nasir Ahammed's first solo art exhibition, showcasing several sculptures and watercolours, is now on at gallery Chitrak. Nasir has developed a distinctive art language of his own. He has created several fantastic wooden sculptures and displayed them with suitable titles. Art lovers will find his sculptures lyrical, rhythmic and embellished with oriental grace.

Enlivening the sculptures with his artistic imagination and desire is noticeable in every works. The soul of the subject, the eternal search for the self, the inward feelings and the exchange of internal dialogues are particularly portrayed in the innovative sculptures. The artist's works deserve compositional finesse.

Amazing textures, treatment of mature colours and a balanced vibrancy of blue, yellow and green are remarkable features of his watercolours. The number of works displayed at the gallery doesn't suit a proper view with space. The beautiful works really require a well-furnished and spacious gallery with aesthetic display to take the taste of the works.

Renowned sculptor Hamiduzzaman Khan, noted poet-singer Kafil Ahmed and human rights activist Khushi Kabir attended the inaugural ceremony as distinguished guests on 24 November.

“Compared to his age, Nasir's works are mature. His watercolours are beautiful while his sculptures will make the art lovers awestruck,” said Hamiduzzaman Khan

Nasir is displaying 43 artworks (26 sculptures and 17 paintings) at the show that is open from 10am to 8pm daily until December 8.
